| From Standard Wheelchair... | To Companion Wheelchair!! | The
Polywog convertible standard/ companion wheelchair is two wheelchairs in
one and has many great features. The Polywog easily transforms from a
standard manual wheelchair, with full size 24" wheels so that the
rider may propel themselves, to a companion wheelchair with 4 small 8
inch caster wheels. This unit is easy to transport and very light weight. The
Polywog has two axles, with quick release wheels. When you want to
switch from a standard manual wheelchair to a companion wheelchair,
simply push the button in the center of the wheel, and the large wheel is
easily removed. The smaller wheel is already in place. This is a
revolutionary design that the wheelchair industry has long awaited...the
convertible wheelchair! The Polywog boasts many great features, such as
an all aluminum frame, fold- down back, nylon upholstery, standard
swing-away footrests with heel loops, standard anti-tip wheels and two sets of brakes,
one for standard chair and one for companion chair. The total weight of
the chair, with the large wheels attached is only 28 lbs. and with only the
transport wheels attached, only 17 lbs.!
